The Dolen Baptist Lamplighter
“Where there is no vision, the people perish…” Proverbs 29:18
Pastor: Michael Nix
Music Minister: Hal Small
Youth Minister: Johnathon Clifton
What a joy it is to serve the Lord at Dolen Baptist Church! I am very excited about what is happening here. We have a full staff again with Bro. Hal and Fran and Bro. Johnathon and Leanne joining us. This time of year is full of activities such as Thanksgiving, Fall Festival and Christmas. I hope you will be involved in the opportunities to fellowship and serve the church and the community. We are looking into what it will take to increase our educational space. When I proudly tell people about our growth and the problems associated with running out of space, I usually hear something like, “Well, those are good problems to have.” While that is true, they are still problems which require answers. We are working to find the answers to those issues in a manner that honors God. Bro. Hal has been teaching us a new song, “No Place I’d Rather Be.” I can honestly say that the words ring true in my heart. Dolen is a great place to be. If you have not been in a while, you need to come and see what you are missing. May the Lord bless you and continue to bless His church at Dolen!

MUSIC MINISTRY
Fran and I feel honored that God allowed us to become part of Dolen Baptist Church. We have enjoyed our first several weeks here. I want to thank the Worship Team for their dedication and faithfulness. The church is blessed to have such talented people. It has taken a lot of extra effort on their part to bring us up to speed.
As we continue to move forward, I want to encourage you to let me know if you have a favorite song you would like the worship team to learn. I am very much open to your suggestions. Also, I am making a list of people who would be willing to sing special music. If that is you, or if you know someone who sings, please let me know. Lastly, I am looking for someone to enter all the new songs and set up the worship schedules for each service in the computer system. This would take an hour or less weekly. If you are interested, please let me know.

Sunday School
Hello from the Bible Study Corner. Things are starting to BUZZ around our Children's Center. We are beginning a new Bible study curriculum called Buzz which our 3-4-5 yr olds sampled recently. They really enjoyed this new interactive way to learn about Jesus.
Bring your kids and grand kids to take part in this new fun way to learn about our Precious Savior.

Hey guys,
Thanks for making our first months here such an awesome transition! Leanne and I love this church and we love this youth group. We’ve been
exploring new territory with curriculum and Bible learning and the response I find it simply impressive. You guys are great and I look forward to growing
up and growing out to better love up and love out. Don’t forget all of our events coming up as we will be getting more information out accordingly.
A word of wisdom before we are through: always set the example, even in your youth. Paul told Timothy to be the example and to rise above the
scorn of youth (1 Timothy 4.12, New Johnathon Translation). Don’t let anyone tell you that you are the future of the church or that you will be a great
leader one day. Aspire to be an integral part of the church and to lead even in inexperience.
You guys rock,
Johnathon and Leanne
